  3. We are pleased that you have decided to take a look at TommySoftware« Tek 
  4. Illustrator. As you will see, it is well worthwhile.
  5.  
  6. The TommySoftware« Tek Illustrator is a full-featured technical illustration 
  7. and graphics system for Microsoft Windows Version 3.1. It offers, along with 
  8. many construction possibilities, a particularly user-friendly graphical user 
  9. interface which complies with all Windows standards.

  11. Installation
  12.  
  13. The installation process is different depending on the way you received the 
  14. TommySoftware« Tek Illustrator. Please make sure to follow all steps 
  15. carefully!

  17. 1. If you received the TommySoftware« Tek Illustrator on disk:
  18.  
  19. On these disks you can find the TommySoftware« Tek Illustrator in packed 
  20. form. In order to install TommySoftware« Tek Illustrator, start the Windows 
  21. program INSTALL.EXE on the first disk.

  23. 2. If you downloaded the TommySoftware« Tek Illustrator from a BBS:
  24.  
  25. As you are reading this text, you have succeeded in unpacking the file 
  26. TK31E1.ZIP. You will also require the files located in the archive named 
  27. TK31E2.ZIP.
  28.  
  29. After unpacking both archives to the same location, you should find at least 
  30. the following files in that location: INSTALL.EXE, INSTALL.WRI and some 
  31. numbered files (about 30 files). In order to install the TommySoftware« Tek 
  32. Illustrator, start the Windows program INSTALL.EXE now.

  34. After the installation, you may delete the files stated above. But before, 
  35. please give a copy of the archives to all your friends! Please make sure, 
  36. however, that you give them all the installation files, and not a copy of 
  37. the installed program. Without a proper installation, the program may not 
  38. work properly on their computer.

  40. Undo Installation
  41.  
  42. During installation of the Tek Illustrator Shareware Version an entry is 
  43. made in WIN.INI. It is removed automatically, if the Tek Illustrator 
  44. Shareware Version is deinstalled using the Undo Installation command from 
  45. the installation program..

  47. System Requirements
  48.  
  49. The TommySoftware« Tek Illustrator requires at least the following:
  50.     - Intel 80386 Processor
  51.     - Microsoft Windows Version 3.1 or higher
  52.     - 4 MB RAM available to Windows (not including swap file)
  53.     - Graphics card and monitor capable of displaying 640X480 pixels and 
  54.     16 colors or gray levels.
  55.     - Mouse or other pointing device.

  57. For working with complex drawings and/or imported bitmap graphics, we 
  58. recommend the following:
  59.     - Intel 80486DX Processor
  60.     - Microsoft Windows Version 3.1 in Enhanced Mode
  61.     - 8-12 MB RAM available to Windows (plus a permanent swap file of 
  62.     about the same size)
  63.     - Accelerated graphics card and monitor capable of displaying 
  64.     1024X768 pixels and 256 colors.
